It’s impossible not to be hugely jealous of Rashid Alabbar.

At the age of just 17 he shot a round of two under par at The Address Montgomerie Dubai golf course. He speaks fluent Italian, something he learned by exchanging WhatsApp messages with friends. There are holidays in Sardinia, a family home in San Diego and the ability to ride 160km endurance horse races.

But now still only 30, rather than following in the footsteps on his famous father Mohamed, chairman of Emaar, Rashid has carved out a huge career for himself.

As co-founder of Alabbar Enterprises, his biggest focus is on the online fashion portal SIVVI. Selling clothing and accessories for 130 high street brands, it is taking the e-commerce industry by storm with 30% growth in revenues each month.

Given the e-commerce industry is forecast to be worth $10bn in the UAE alone by 2020, chances are Rashid will not have to wait too long before joining his father as a member of the billionaires club.
