Not content with putting the terrors on the operator community by rolling out its own music services, Nokia is provoking its customers further with an ad supported video service released this week.
On Monday, Nokia announced a video service called Medeo, which focuses on delivering red carpet news, movie star interviews, film trailers and fashion and music features.
Medeo is sponsored by ads but operators will be pleased to know they can get into the revenue stream by picking up the data traffic between the consumer and the site.
“We’ve already paved the way for the mobile device to evolve beyond the traditional sphere of mobility into a device as personal as it is powerful. Bringing you the entertainment you want is part of that promise – and with Starcut’s innovative service, we are delivering entertainment straight to your Nokia device,” said Petteri Putkiranta, director of video experiences for Nokia Multimedia.
