Despite the New York launch event being cancelled due to hurricane Sandy, Google on Monday unveiled its latest additions to the Nexus family three devices in three sizes, ready to go toe-to-toe with Apple over the holiday period.

The Nexus 4, 7, and 10 all run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, with the aim of giving a consistent user experience across all models.

Korean vendor LG built the Nexus 4, with a quad-core processor and 4.7″ (320 ppi) display. The unit boasts an overhauled panoramic photo functionality and starts retailing at £239 ($299) in the UK.

The refreshed Nexus 7, build by Asus, boasts an Nvidia Tegra 3 quad core processor and 16GB ($199) or 32GB ($249) of storage. A new addition to the line is HSPA+ mobile data, with 32GB devices selling for $299.

The Samsung built Nexus 10 claims to be “the highest resolution tablet on the planet” with a 10.055″ display at 2560-by-1600 (300ppi), claiming over four million pixels.

“But what makes Nexus 10 unique is that it’s the first truly shareable tablet. With Android 4.2, you can add multiple users and switch between them instantly right from the lockscreen,” Google said. This is a very welcome development and something that’s been missing from tablets to date. “We believe that everyone should have quick and easy access to their own stuff — email, apps, bookmarks, and more. That way, everyone can have their own home screens, their own music, and even their own high scores.”

The Nexus 10 16GB will sell for $399 while the 32GB will go for $499.
