Deutsche Telekom’s venture capital arm, T-Venture, and partnership investor Creathor Venture, have invested “several million Euro” into cloud services enabler Netbiscuits, helping the firm enhance its offering in the USA and Europe.

The investment was announced on Tuesday and follows the trend of flourishing interest in the cloud services space. As providers of connectivity, telcos are perfectly placed to put end users – either individuals or enterprises – in touch with providers of cloud services, and to bill them to consume those services too.

Netbiscuits, which is based in Germany, operates a cloud-based content publishing platform. Catering to a broad customer base across the online, media and entertainment industries, Netbiscuits enables its customers to develop, publish and monetise cross-platform mobile websites and apps using software-as-a-service (SaaS). Existing clients include eBay, Universal Music Group, MTV Networks and Spiegel Online.

T-Venture said the investment will allow Netbiscuits to take its growth strategy for the USA to the next level and expand business in core markets in Europe and Asia.
